It’s always so obvious, we all talk about doing it, some of us think we do it very very well, some admit we don’t have a clue, some think it’s just a ‘sales’ job…but go out and meet with your customers and listen to them, ask them open-ended questions and listen – you can

 

X – Listen and Learn – listen to your customers, their customers, people in your industry, related to your industry, adjacent to your industry in the various media in which we all ‘live’ -

 

  • Listen to your customers – figure out what you want to learn and know first tho!
  • Listen and learn about your customers’ customers
  • Check out online sites related to your industry, customers, customers’ customers, etc. – see what types of things they are asking, discussing, worrying about etc.
  • Check out social networking sites related to your industry, customers, customers’ customers, etc. – become a part of the community and ask questions and learn

 

You know what kind of questions to ask – open-ended ones to get them thinking and talking…
